Location: Willow, NY, 12464 (exact location sent upon registration)

THIS EVENT WILL BE TAKING PLACE MOSTLY OUTDOORS. PLEASE DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

The day will include a Healing Plant Identification Walk, Hands-on Herbal Medicine Making and Cooking with Foraged Foods

We'll enjoy a leisurely walk as we learn to recognize, identify and harvest some of the abundant healing plants in the area, many of which grow down in the city too. You'll have time to gather plants that resonate with you and afterwards, we'll return to the house for herbal medicine making! We'll also forage what is available and incorporate it into our lunch, which we'll prepare together.

We will let nature dictate the flow of the day and there will be plenty of time for quesitons.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS:

Cheryl Boiko is a community herbalist based in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn and owner of Remedies Herb Shop. She studied The Wise Woman Tradition of Herbal Medicine and her training and her experience includes herbal and nutritional consulting, plant identification, herbal medicine making and being on the front lines of her little herbal shop! Cheryl completed an herbal apprenticeship at Flower Power Herbs & Roots and the advanced immersion program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she was certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner.

Victoria O'Hara grew up in the Hudson Valley’s Black Dirt Region of NY, has spent time living in the beautiful redwoods of Arcata, CA, and now resides in the Catskill Mountains of NY where she lives, loves and creates. She rejoices in time spent out in the forest and fields observing plants, moving slowly and noticing life happening around her. When not outside, you can find her working at Remedies herb shop in Woodstock, NY where she has worked with the community for the past 4 years. Victoria apprenticed under Aemen Bell at Artemis Rising Herb Shop and is currently an apprentice with Leilani Diaz

Cancellations made with at least 28 days notice qualify for a full refund or may use the credit towards a future class of the same of lesser value, within 6 months

Cancellations made within 1 to 28 days of class may use the credit towards a future class of the same of lesser value, within 6 months

Cancellations made with less then 24 hours prior notice do not qualify for a refund or class credit

This weekend retreat was set in the gorgeous Catskills Mountains. The house was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The salt water pool was refreshing. I learned life-changing information about herbs, fermenting, and first aid that I am now using on a daily basis. Cherie is so smart and wonderful. All the guest speakers and workshops were incredibly insightful. The new moon bonfire ceremony was moving. I will definitely come back for another herbal weekend!

This workshop was terrific. The classes were tremendously interesting and informative, lunch was delicious, and it was a really lovely experience.
