The Art & Practice of Tarot PART 3

We will be diving into the last two suits within the Minor Arcana : Swords & Pentacles. The Suit of Swords governs the intellect, thought, and communication. Its rulership is Air and this aspect is exhibited within each of its corresponding cards. Next, we will enter the elemental of Earth with the Suit of Pentacles. This sphere is that of finances, career, health, and all tangible manifestations. In class, you will learn about the Pip cards in depth. These are the cards ranging from Ace to Ten within a Suit. The court cards within the Swords and Pentacles will follow. These express the character, temperaments, and developmental stages embodied by the Page, Knight, Queen, and King within a suit. Additionally, your astrological chart will be used to determine which of these Minor Arcana cards correspond to your Sun, Moon, and Rising Signs. In part 1 & 2, we uncovered the Major Arcana & Minor Arcana : Fire & Cups associations with the birth chart; this portion will be buildings on that practice and extending into new cards we learn within the tarot. Cole created Alchemia Auri Tarot. This is a deck derived from alchemical allegory and esoteric philosophy. We will be working with this deck in class to explore the magic of this ancient art. However, any traditional deck may be used.
