The Art & Practice of Tarot PART 2

We will be diving into the first two suits within the Minor Arcana: Wands & Cups. The Suit of Wands brims with passion, creativity, and energy. Its rulership is fire and this aspect is exhibited within each of its corresponding cards. Next, we will enter the realms of water within the Suit of Cups. This domain is the home of intuition, emotions, relationships, and all matters of the heart. In class, you will learn about the Pip cards in depth. These are the cards ranging from Ace to Ten within a Suit. The court cards within the Wands and Cups will follow. These express the character, temperaments, and developmental stages embodied by the Page, Knight, Queen, and King within a suit. Additionally, your astrological chart will be used to determine which Minor Arcana cards correspond to your Sun, Moon, and Rising Signs. In part 1, we uncovered the Major Arcana associations with the birth chart; this portion will be building on that practice and extending into new cards we learn within the tarot. Cole created Alchemia Auri Tarot. This is a deck derived from alchemical allegory and esoteric philosophy. We will be working with this deck in class to explore the magic of this ancient art. However, any traditional deck may be used.
