Each student will also receive an invaluable hand out with detailed information about each ingredient offered in class.

Join Jo Anne Richards, Herbalist, Formulator/Owner of Peony Rose Botanicals, and Lead Teacher at Remedies Herb Shop to learn how to custom craft your own serums, toners and masks! Address your personal skin care challenges and goals. In this hands on workshop, we will discuss benefits and characteristics of nourishing skin care oils, herbs, and other ingredients, as you learn to create your own formulas. Jo Anne provides a hefty hand-out filled with plenty of “how-to” information, including recipes, safety guidelines, and Jo Anne's list of her favorite suppliers and resources. You will take home one ounce each of custom made serum, mask, and 2 ounces of toner.

TUITION: $145 (includes $38 materials fee; retail value for products you will take home is $77)

Jo Anne Kelly Richards is a Certified Herbalist and a Certified Holistic Health Coach. She practices and teaches The Wise Woman Tradition of Herbal Medicine. Her four years of herbal medicine training and apprenticeship included field work, plant identification, medicine making, and clinical practice. Jo Anne also completed the Advanced Immersion program for Holistic Health Counselors at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Jo Anne has taught and lectured at NY Sports Club, Brooklyn College, The Home Spa, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC, and P.S. 29 in Brooklyn. As a natural skin care formulator and herbal medicine maker, Jo Anne is registered with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. You can find Jo Anne sharing the healing wisdom of our local wild plants, and the nourishing properties of her natural soaps and skin care line, with her customers and students, at Remedies Herb Shop, in Brooklyn, NY, where she is currently the lead herbal medicine teacher.
