Description: Fungi can eat your garbage, and when they are done, you can eat healthy mushrooms and you get healthy soil as a biproduct. Practice how to grow fungi on household waste and go home with you own made grow kit to bloom oyster mushrooms indoors. John Michelotti of Catskill Fungi will go over this and expand into the wide world of Fungi highlighting their functions and uses for people and the planet.

John Michelotti is the owner of Catskill Fungi whose mission is to empower people with Fungi though outdoor educational mushroom classes, cultivation courses, private consultations, mushroom art, and mushroom health supplements which he produces from mushrooms he grows on his family farm in the Catskill Mountains.John is the President of the Mid-Hudson Mycological Association (MHMA) and has presented at the Telluride Mushroom Festival, Northeastern Mycological Association Foray, as well as the New York Botanical Gardens. He served on the Mushroom Advisory Panel for Certified Naturally Grown to develop ecological standards in mushroom production. He has worked with Amazon Mycorenewal Project to conduct research utilizing Fungi to remediate oil spills and other contaminants. His goal is to educate and inspire people to pair with fungi to improve health, environment and communities.
